| DESCRIPTION | This course explores the frontier of physics where temperature meets the quantum world. We will delve into the principles and techniques used to cool atoms to temperatures a billionth of a degree above absolute zero, where quantum mechanical effects dominate. The course bridges fundamental science with cutting-edge technology, examining how ultracold systems are engineered to build the next generation of quantum devices, including atomic interferometers, optical clocks, quantum simulators, and quantum computers. |
