| DESCRIPTION | This course provides a comprehensive introduction to solid waste treatment and resource recovery technologies. The course covers the generation, characterization, collection, and processing of solid waste, as well as major treatment technologies including biological treatment, thermal conversion, and landfill disposal. Particular emphasis is placed on resource recovery from waste streams, including recycling of materials, energy recovery, and emerging technologies for sustainable waste management. The course also discusses environmental impacts, circular economy principles, and the role of advanced materials, separation technologies, and data-driven or AI-assisted approaches in modern waste management and resource recovery. |
