| DESCRIPTION | Students are introduced to the concepts and fundamentals of material behavior, which provide a foundation for understanding the behavior of the major types of engineering materials. It will teach the fundamental relationship between the internal structure, properties, and processing in engineering materials, covering everything from metals, ceramics, polymers, composites, to functional materials. It will provide comprehensive coverage spanning mechanical, thermal, electrical, magnetic, and other functionalities for smart materials. In addition to general engineering materials, special topics will also be provided on advanced manufacturing techniques. |
