| DESCRIPTION | This course introduces students to the basics of new energy science and engineering, including: various new energy sources used by mankind; renewable sources; physical foundations for energy consumption and energy production; strategies to optimize renewable energy production and utilization, including wind, solar, bio, and hydrogen energy. Advanced energy storage technologies (such as batteries) and their safety will also be covered. AI-driven material designs for energy applications will be introduced. This course will also discuss the environmental consequences of energy conversion. |
